What are Dental implants?
A dental implant is a metal (Titanium) device that replaces the root of a natural tooth. After the implant is placed into the jaw bone, artificial teeth are attached to it enabling normal function.

Why Dental Implants?
Dental Implantology is the most exiting and rapidly growing field in dentistry. Dental implants allow dental surgeons to replace missing teeth in a way different than traditional techniques such as dentures or bridges.
Traditionally when a tooth is lost the gap is restored by using the remaining adjacent teeth to support an artificial tooth. This requires removing healthy tooth structure from the adjacent teeth and thereby compromising their long term viability.
Today the roots of missing teeth can be replaced by a dental implant which fuses with the jawbone in process known as osteointegration. These implants can be used to support artificial teeth which look, feel and work very much like natural teeth.

Who can benefit from Dental Implants?
1) Any person who needs to replace one or more missing teeth. Especially in situations where the adjacent teeth are previously unrestored or when there are not enough natural teeth to support a fixed partial denture (bridge) but the patient does not wish to wear a partial denture.

2) People wearing complete dentures who wish to make them more stable or wish to have permanent teeth again (fixed bridge).

3) People wearing partial dentures who wish to have a fixed (non removable solution).
